Lord Jesus, I Need You

Lord Jesus, I need you, come into my heart
I’m lacking direction; don’t know where to start
They said if I wanted a life that is full
That You were the one who gives life Eternal
I heard You bring peace, and I heard you bring love
Well, both of those things I could use a lot of!
I just want to know that I matter some way
That my life has a plan and a purpose each day
I just need to know that those sins that I hide –
The ones in the dark I’m ashamed of inside
That you will forgive me and set my heart free –
Free from this prison I’ve created for me
I want to have joy in spite of the pain
And know there is sunshine behind all the rain
They say that You love me unconditionally;
But Lord, do you like me? I need to know, please!
“My child, since You asked Me, I’ll live in your heart
I’ll give you direction; a new place to start
My death on the cross paid the price for your sin
It’s remembered no more – You are free! Lift your chin!
There’s a plan for your life, and even your pain
Has a place for My Glory, your good and your gain
And as you read My Word and you get to know Me
My joy and my peace will start to flow free
And I not only LOVE you with all of my being
I LIKE who you are; I delight in you daily!
I’m a Father who runs out, so thrilled you’ve come home
You’re part of my family; I cherish each one!
And now that I live in your life and your heart
I’ve promised to stay and I’ll never depart
Your eternity’s certain; My Spirit will guide you
I gave you New Life; I am always beside you
So live out your days being faithful and true
When you don’t understand, trust in Me, for I do
Some times will be tough, and your faith will be tested
But never give up; keep the faith you’ve invested
And someday you’ll see Me, for Heaven’s your home
Your eternal rewards are awaiting, my friend!
So live this adventure; follow Me, and you’re winning –
The full life I promised is only beginning!”

"Lord Jesus, I need You. Thank you for dying on the cross for my sins. I open the door of my life and receive you as my Savior and Lord. Thank You for forgiving me and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life and make me the kind of person You want me to be. Amen."
