In God's Hands Now

The greatest thing I ever did was give my life to God;
He came and pulled me from a pit of sin, where I was caught.
He didn’t hit me on the head; He didn’t strike me down;
He came to me through my best friend, who told me of His plan.
I learned if I gave Jesus my life of death and sin,
He’d clean out my dirty heart and bring his love right in.
So I got on my knees that day, my friend and I together;
We prayed a prayer for Jesus Christ to let me live forever.
For Jesus came to die for us, so we could have salvation,
And so I gave my life to Him without one hesitation.
I gave to Him my anxiousness, my selfishness, my pride;
I gave to Him my troubled heart that suffered deep inside.
I gave to Him some time each day to read His Word and pray;
I gave to Him the trials I encountered on the way.
I gave to Him the daily thoughts that ran across my mind;
I gave to Him my lustful heart that wasn’t hard to wind.
I gave to Him my fears, for my greatest fear was death;
I gave to Him my hard work, and He gave my soul a rest.
I gave to Him my life, in fact, and now all I can see
Are all the many ways He has to bless and re-bless me.
My life has such a happiness, since God knows all my needs;
He provides, and I just do His will in all my deeds.
For now I find I want to please Him, it is not a chore;
I need to thank Him daily for unlocking my heart’s door.
The day I let Almighty God take away my fears
Became the day he took away my sadness and my tears.
He took away my anxiousness, my selfishness, my pride;
He took away my troubled heart that suffered deep inside.
He took away the sinful thought that used to cross my mind;
He took away my lustful heart that now is hard to wind.
But most of all, He took away a life of death through sin,
For in His love He died to give salvation to all men.
My life is worth the living now, my eyes are on the prize;
And when I get to Heaven it is mine, through Jesus Christ.
My Salvation’s sure in Jesus; He’s the one to whom I bow,
‘Cause I’ve found such a joy in living—my life’s in God’s Hands now.
